Dear fellow.
You use tree topology when you are planing this kind of network. You should know the active hub and passive hub. Well the two building Suppose Building A and Building B has the distance of 500 meters. So you need Active hub and passive hub it will make a tree topology structure. So the active hub act like a repeater which regenerates the signal and it's strength doesn't week during the exchanging data.
