Stopping at bottom of spread sheet

Hello,
I often have to format a whole column with the same formula. I click the corner and pull it down which works fine. The frustrating part is that My column may be 150 cels down but the auto fill leaps to 800 plus. How can I put a bottom on the sheet I am using?

Select the unnecessary rows at the end and DELETE the rows selected. SAVE the file and reopen. The try again
