Hi Amelia,
Try this steps...
1. Open your Gmail account
2. Click Settings
3. Click on Labels (icon found at the bottom part)
4.Click on Show trash(this will show your trash folder)
Now see your deleted mails in Trash folder.
However trash folder stores emails only for 30 days.
