Help itunes wont read my ipod

Hello, my name is Noah and my ipod doesnt show up as a device on itunes what should i do please help i have itunes cards but i cant use them!!! do you no what its like being a kid with no music wellll do ya!!!!!

yes i do i have the same problem if i find an answer ill fill you in but mine wont let me resync it because i disconnected it wrong and now it wont show up on my computer
