Dont have sound after install ubuntu9.10

After me install ubuntu 9.10...my laptop dont have any sound..my laptop hp COMPAQ CQ40)...please helap me..i dummies in this problem...since 2month i dont hear any sound in laptop..after i insttaled ubuntu9.10...somebody please help me.....

Dear Sir,

This is occurring for the fact that the sound driver is not compatible to the system. Please get the driver updated for having the problem solved.
