Influencers claim that sunscreen's chemical ingredients are harmful and suggest using "natural alternatives" like coconut oil or skipping sun protection altogether. Public Health authorities warn that this is both incorrect and very dangerous, with serious health implications.

Experts emphasize that sun protection products undergo rigorous safety controls and regular scientific review. Regulatory agencies ensure that only safe and effective ingredients are used in sunscreens. The harmful effects of sun exposure without protection are well-documented, including an increased risk of skin cancer, accelerated skin aging, and eye damage.
