Replacement phone locked out of gmail

About 2 months ago I broke my Samsung galaxy s8. I was able to get it replaced but since then I've not been able to get into my gmail. I've created a new one but still cannot retrieve my old one even with my password. Any advice?

If you have a new phone, and want to see your Gmail messages in the Gmail App on the new phone, add your account to the phone.

Depending on your phone and OS version:

Device Settings >> Accounts & Sync >> add account >> pick Google
Device Settings >> Accounts >> Google >> add account

On some phones you will have a Settings app - on others you need to use the main menu button to get to Settings.

Thank you for responding to my question, but every time I try Google responds that it cannot verify my account
