Skype crashing my MacBook Pro

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me please.

I am running macOS High Sierra with the latest Skype update.

Since the most recent Skype update to the new Skype, when I am on a video call the entire screen often freezes, the camera freezes and the sound stops for a about 5 seconds. This can happen every minute or so, or sometimes just a few times in a 25 minute call, it's very sporadic. A couple of times my computer has totally frozen and I can only hear the person's voice. I then have to force shutdown my computer and reboot.

Can anyone help with this problem? Thanks so much!

Hi,

uninstall and reinstall Skype.

I fully uninstalled, reinstalled and the problem is still happening :(

Does your Macbook battery come out?

If so, take it out for 60 seconds.
