Earphones are not working on phone

I have a pair of Skullcandy earphones that do not work when i plug it into my phone. However they do work when i use them on my 2 laptops.

My brother has the exact same model of earphones that work perfectly on my phone. Other earphones and headphones also work on my phone.

My brother also has the exact same phone model, my earphones don't work on his either.

I've tried cleaning the headphone jack and i can't see any disfigurations on the chord itself.
