I wanted to install windows xp Professional sp3 32bit on an old hp compaq d530 but when it starts to copy files it shows me that (something.sys) is corrrupted or it shows me that some file made an unknown error and it won't continue further

i'm installing from a cd as a new installation trough freedos.
what to do to make it install?I tried two cd's that were both unused(mine and my friend's one that he wanted to give me as a backup cd)

I suspect a hardware problem probably with the memory modules. It could also be a problem with the CD drive. It might be better to install Linux.

Good Luck
