My acer Aspire has always been slow, and I often get the notification in the top left that windiws or firefox or other stuff is "not responding" and the screen goes white. I can do nothing, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for minutes. Today all the icons on the taskbar disappeared and they don't seem to be coming back... Charming. Any ideas, anyone?

P S. Apparently my processor is supposed to be fast - never seen any evidence of that.
