Messenger not starting from Facebook app

Starting from version 358, when I press the messenger icon on the top right of the Facebook Android app, Messenger does not open at my account but at the choose account page.
I have reinstalled both apps but the problem continues.
I would appreciate your help.

As you said your messenger is not working from facebook app, you can take these steps
First, check your Android OS is up to date by going to Settings > About device > Software update > Update now. ... Next, try going to Settings > Applications & notifications > See all apps > Messenger > Storage and hit Clear Storage and Clear Cache

Thanks for the proposal. Unfortunately I have done all that but failed.
It actually starts but on the choose account page.
