How to Restore The Settings Icon on iPhone

For newer iphones (running iOS 13 or greater) there is a MUCH BETTER way to restore the settings app WITHOUT having to RESET. Keep Swiping RIGHT until the App Library appears. Look for the UTILITIES folder and the SETTINGS app will be there. Press and HOLD the Settings App until the icons start to jiggle. You can then just slide the SETTINGS icon to where ever you want it to be.

I was panicing - as I do - had accidentally deleted my settings app on my ancient iphone - so quick to get back using the very clear advice above. Thanks!
