How to Restore The Settings Icon on iPhone

If you have accidentally deleted the Settings icon from the home screen of your iOS device, don't worry. This tutorial will walk you through the restoration process, which works for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Restoring the iOS Settings Icon

Open Spotlight Search, and type Settings. Tap Settings.

Go to the Reset section > Reset Home Screen layout.

Your Settings icon should be restored, along with all of the app icons that were present on your home screen when you first purchased your device.

For newer iphones (running iOS 13 or greater) there is a MUCH BETTER way to restore the settings app WITHOUT having to RESET. Keep Swiping RIGHT until the App Library appears. Look for the UTILITIES folder and the SETTINGS app will be there. Press and HOLD the Settings App until the icons start to jiggle. You can then just slide the SETTINGS icon to where ever you want it to be.

I was panicing - as I do - had accidentally deleted my settings app on my ancient iphone - so quick to get back using the very clear advice above. Thanks!
