Nearby Friends Wave recall and update

Is there a way to unsend a wave on Nearby Friends? I accidentally hit it when scrolling for another friend.

If you have an unanswered wave on Nearby Friends will it still update their location (will the person that waved see updates even if they do not reply with a wave or delete the wave sent to them?)

Hello, I think once you have sent a wave you can't take it back. And I'm not sure if it will update their location.
