Hi,
The hard drive may have been corrupted when you disconnected it without safely ejecting it. Try running the check disk utility.
First of all, open Command Prompt with administrator rights. Next, type chkdsk d: /f and press Enter. Note: replace d: by the letter of your hard drive.
The check disk utility will scan the hard drive for errors and try to fix it.
