Hi Hardy,
Use the following formula to determine rank:
=RANK(A2,$A$2:$A$6)
A2 is the cell you want to return the rank for.
$A$2:$A$6 is the range of cells where the student marks are located.
The dollar symbols are there to keep the range fixed, so you can drag the formula down.
