I recently bought a new hard drive (WD Caviar Black 1TB HD) to use in a master/slave set up but windows won't recognize it. The only catch is, the new hard drive (1 TB) uses SATA while the other hard drive (WD Caviar 80 gig) uses IDE cables. The new hard drive shows up in the BIOS, but for some reason windows will not recognize it. Also, I have a DVD-RAM drive that uses IDE cables and is currently set in the slave spot while the older hard drive is the master.

Any idea how to get the new hard drive set as the slave and be recognized by windows?
