Hello,
My Sony Vaio with vista will turn on but the screen is blank and before that happened a message popped up with "login failed check log" or something now the power light will flash orange gently. Help!

hi,

try to boot in safe mode by pressing F8 key repeatedly and then select safe mode.

then try to repair your windows or do a system restore.

this should help.
