I am having the same problem as Chris above.
When I connect my extra hard drive to my computer it shows up as listed under hard drives.
But when I tried to assign a letter to the drive in the disk management screen it wont let me do anything.
I have replaced plugs, plugged into wall only, did the 1384 thing, tried the tweek program, tried to change drive letter.
When I did try change the letter it just gave me the option of "help", but when I went up to drive "c" and tried to change that one by right clicking it would have done it fine.
What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this.....it has my whole life on it as a back up and my main computer just failed so now I have nothing!!!
