Hello,

I recently had to reinstall Windows Xp, because my system crashed. It is a very old copy. No internet conection when the activation wizard started, so it stopped. I have tried running C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a to no avail. When I try to install any of the service packs or IE updates, it stops when it gets to verifying the product key. I do have the correct product key for my version, but do not know how to get the activation wizard back up so I can enter it.

Can anyone help?

You should install a windows xp service pack 2 cd! then the automatic updates will download updates for you!

Just try to get a Windows XP SP 2 cd
