Ares download problem

Hello,
can any one tell me if i reinstall my "ares" p2p downloader... will my unfinished downloads continue.... if not what else to do..... it is not able to download for a long period of time..... if i quit and restart it it shows seeds for the donloads (some times even 50/60) but then the no. of seeds keep on decreasing and at last ends up in "searching" state. please help.... i have some downloads completed upto 90-95% and got stuck.
