Hi :)

I think for most versions of linux just go to your "package manager" and use it to search for and install "cheese" "Cheese" is often the package that most versions of linux use to add camera functionality to programs on your machine.

Please could you let us know which version of linux you are using and which type of camera, the "make" or "manufacturer" and possibly the "model number" are usually printed on the camera itself.

Which Cd are you missing? If it's the one for the camera then really don't worry because it probably only has stuff for Windows. In linux we have drivers and things on the internet and the package manager should sort out all the drivers you need when you install "cheese" ;) If it's the cd for the version of linux then it would help to know which version of linux so that we could point you in the right direction, alternatively look it up yourself through DistroWatch (see my last paragraph in this message)

It may depend on which version of linux but this forum should be able to help
http://www.linuxquestions.org
as it deals with a huge range of different versions of linux but is dedicated to linux support.

It might be worth popping along to
https://distrowatch.com/
to see if you recognise which of those versions of linux you are using. If you see your version listed down on the right-hand side then click on it and navigate to the "User Forums" for your version of linux. They should be able to give much better help in there.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
