My itunes says itouch is iphone

Hello,
my itunes says my itouch is iphone and kinda freezes and does not open when i closeit(itunes),
i tried restoring the ipod but the time keeps geeting up and the download restarts
help...............
should i get the update done on another pc??????
what should i do,.................

Just uninstall itunes and install a newer version
