Please help me download vlc to my linpus liteClosed

Hello,
Sorry to be a pain but I dont quite understand how you do the command line as I wish to download vlc to my linpus linux lite acer aspire one notebook. I opened a new terminal on my file manager and typed in $> su-  and everything else you said to type in but it didn't do anything, could you run through it step-by-step please?, Thanks again,

Hello there,

This URL has the steps to install it.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html

If you have the rpm, then become superuser: "su -"

then "rpm -vhU <rpm-name-you-downloaded>" will install.
If there are any missing libraries you will have to load those first.
