Hello,
I HAVE A Acer Aspire One THAT HAS A BOOT UP PROBLEM. I THINK IT GOT A VIRUS AND THEN WOULDN'T
BOOT UP SAYS MISSING A WINDOWS ROOT/SYSTEM32/HAL.DLL. NEED TO INSTALL A COPY OF THIS FILE. I BOUGHT A BOOTABLE FLASH DRIVE WITH WINDOWS XP OFF EBAY AND THE MAN SAID IT WOULD RE INSTALL AND FIX. IT DIDN'T, DOES ANYONE HAVE A IDEA OF HOW TO FIX. I ALSO BOUGHT A CDRW/DVD COMBO TO TRY AND INSTALL A COPY OF WINDOWS XP PRO I HAVE AND AGAIN DIDN'T FIX. PLEASE HELP ME OUT IF ANYONE CAN.

Hello Sir,

You just have to format your computer and install a fresh windows,

Go to your BIOS settings,

Press F2 when you laptop starts,

Go on the Boot options and set the 1st boot priority to your DVD drive,

Then Insert the Windows Xp disc

And save and exit the bios

You will notice that the computer will boot from the disc, press any key

Then follow the instructions

Make sure to format your C: partition and install the windows system there

THANKS FOR THE ADVISE, I TRIED MANY TIMES TO GET THE UNIT TO EVEN BOOT AND NOTHING. I TRIED THE DVD AND ALSO THE FLASH DRIVE I BOUGHT. I DON'T RELLY KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO AT THIS TIME. THANKS AGAIN, RONNIE
