1) If it's connected to Internet correctly, test to ping 209.131.36.159, 74.125.127.100, should work. If not, your computer is not connected to Internet correctly. You can then try this network troubleshooting tips.
2) If you can ping those Internet IP, then use nslookup to resolve yahoo.com, google.com or other URL, see whether it works. If not, there is problem on your DNS servers, can test to configure following free DNS servers provided by OpenDNS, after that try again.

3) If you suspect it's browser problem, test to use other browsers, such as IE, Opera.
