If you have the know-how, then building a computer by yourself (buying the parts off Newegg.com, for instance) is MUCH cheaper than any alternatives and you can build a really great machine (I just built a killer gaming machine by buying all the parts off Newegg, it was only about 850 dollars, quad core, 4 gb 1066 RAM, 500 GB Hard drive, EVGA 8800 GT.)
If you don't have the know-how or don't want to go through the hassle, ibuypower.com is a good site some friends of mine have used before. They'll build you a great gaming computer for MUCH cheaper than everybody else.

Hi Kallor,
I just bought an Intel Core 2 series i used it only for gaming..
I use to play with online communities such as
war craft
Commandos
Fear
I can assure you that it is much more fun playing with Intel Core series than Amd.
Hope this could like you for your choice.
