Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 loaded with Vista. It has a recovery disk for downgrading to XP. If I downgrade to XP is it permanent? There's an feature to back up my Vista system but it takes an estimated 19 DVDs!.
thanks

hi there,

yes it is until you

make a recovery to default

Thanks

by recovery to default do you mean the Fi8 on start up routine that re-stores the original factory software? There in lies my confusion - is Vista embedded on the hard drive thus recluding the requirement for a recovery disk?
thanks for all the help.

I'm unclear on the term "recovery to default".
