Cannot access dvd drive or memory card

Hello,

My dell laptop is only 4 months old. Recently I tried to play a dvd and it didnt load on the desktop when I installed the dvd. The same goes for accessing a photo memory stick.

did you recently format your pc?

did the laptop come with operating system

or its you who installed it?

please give more information
