Old HDD failure

Hello,
I actually have a real problem..

1. I have 2 old Maxtor 40G HDD

2. They're not detecting anymore.. I think they are dead or got viruses..!

I would like to know if there's a possibility to backup them onto new HDDs

As i have many many good stuffs i dont wanna loose in them..

Thanx in advance

P.S. I tries to make backups once.. it has detected one HDD.. but minutes after it has damaged the pc.. and burnt the current wondows HDD.. :(

Anybody knows technicians or workshop for dead HDDs??

I heard about indians workshops that transcript dead HDD data onto new ones... I cant confirm

yep i heard that there are solutions for dead HDD
