pls help me am tired.i coudnt sleep throughout yestarday pls help.
Please advise how you overcame the SATA issue . Windows XP does not detect the hard-drive when trying to load Win XP Pro. Really need to get away from Vista!!!
For the SATA drivers issue, you will need to implement the drivers on your windows xp cd with a special program. I did this myself a while ago, and I believe you will need to make an iso file of the windows cd, then implement the drivers, and then burn a new windows cd with the SATA drivers. Worked for me anyways.

I have bought a notebook HP Pavilion dv7-1185eg Entertainment Notebook PC, it comes with windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit, I have tried to install Windows Xp on it, but I get a blue screen of death. I have wrote to Hp support, and they have send me a list of drivers where to download for XP. In my bios there is no option where I can diable "Sata Native Mode", because I have to hard drives ich one of them 320GB.
I have tried to install driver from floppy disk, I have downloades these drivers and extract to floppy. I put the windows Xp cd on my Dvd rom, and when windows start up I have pressed F6 key to go throught support for drivers, it loads the drivers I have selected all of them one by one, it iniciates to go to that screen to start up Windows from where you can see the options for reparir, fromat etc, but before it comes there I get e blue screen of death. I have sleapstreamed these drivers to Cd with windows XP and I still get the same error.
Does some one can help me about these problem! How can I install Windows Xp. If enyone has any knowledge about this pls pls help me!

i have a compaq cq60-152em with the same problem. im not sure the problem is related with the sata drivers because I even removed the harddrive of laptop and I put that harddrive to another notebook which allows xp installation. with that computer, I was able to install xp without any problem and I used it for a while to test it, there is no problem. However, after putting the harddrive back to my computer, it didn`t work. I am not the best but I know some about this kind of stuff. But I don`t know what the hell it is. I can install another operating systems (backtrack, mandriva etc.) by the way. just the xp I cannot install. If someone has an idea it will be greatly appreciated.
can u please send me the method how to install win xp on hp dv 6500 laptop, I will not forget ur this act of generosity.

its easy.
whit a linux boot cd you can find out what hardware you have in the system(ubuntu is a good system for this).
Then, do the next:
open a terminal, in applications and then type: lspci
This will give a list of hardware your laptop have.
mine for exeple is a hp dv5 1030ep, so the list is as next:
copy past:
