How toload i pod

Hello,I was wondering if there is a way to dl music own a apple i pod free. i use to dl music with lime wire a few yrs ago but it was not own a i pod,i think it was a mp3 player.I'm sure ppl are going to lol at me i just havent done it in yrs and was wondering if they had stoped the free dl some how.from what i think i understand theres no way to do it free own a i pod is this correct?
