i cannot get sound in ubuntu 8.04 Solved/Closed

Question

Hello, i am new using linux and i cannot install the codecs for the suond in my machine i have a GA-EG41MF-US2H mother board with a GeForce 7100 video card, when i play a video i get to see it sometimes
but don't heard a thing, and sometimes i cannot even see the video, it puts me this message "Failed to connect stream: Invalid argumen". THANK YOU

I would suggest u do what LouisSteph suggested and also check for updates for the codecs

i already did that but i guess it did not download those driver, and now i dont know how to updated again, please help me

Go to Applications &#8594; Add/Remove...
Set Show: to All available applications
Then search for audio plug ins,download and install

Hi if that doesn't work,you should try this,
Open up a terminal (applications -> accessories -> terminal) and copy/paste this code:

    sudo wget https://medibuntu.org -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list && wget -q https://medibuntu.org -O- | sudo apt-key add – && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y ubuntu-restricted-extras non-free-codecs w32codecs totem-mozilla libdvdcss2
