I assume by now you figured this out but just go to add printer and hit windows update for the correct driver. I also found you had to re-boot before it would print. I still can't find a driver for the scanner.

2. Define your operating system to install your Brother Printer device.

4. Find Brother Printer Drivers.
5. Select Brother MFC9700.
6. Download Brother MFC9700. Note: you can update all Drivers automatically with RadarSync (Freeware) or Driver Detective (Shareware).
7. Install Brother MFC9700.
8. Restart or reboot your computer to finish your driver installation. Note: you can backup your computer drivers before updating.
