Hello,
I am running windows XP on my desktop and have wireless network. My desktop does not recognize the wireless when opening network connections. what can I do to correct this issue?
I know the wireless router is working well because my laptop which runs on Vista recognizes the network immediately when turned on.

I assume your desktop has wireless hardware?
