Hello,
trouble connecting to xbox live wirelessly. was wandering if I bought a cable modem and hooked xbox to that would it work if it was the second modem. call rip-off house i mean bright house and they said i would have to pay $45 extra a month for another high speed internet connection. bump that. why cant i go buy my own modem and put a splitter in my cable line and hook it up that way? any light on the subject would be awesome.

The cable company knows the serial number of the modem and will NOT communicate with a modem that is not authorized (i.e. one your not paying for).
I gather the modem has a build-in wireless option or do you have a wireless router?
