Help to get out of this problem

Hello,
My name is Abebe and I am sending this message from Ethiopia. My removable hard disk is Sony 2GB and it cannot be either opned or formatted. Actually, it had virus some monthes ago and i gave to my friend to remove it. And when he gave me back i discovered this problem. Plese help.

Dear Sir,

Try connecting it instead of your CD ROM drive and hence have the

possibility to format it.
