Burning a movie on to a blank dvd

Hello,
Can anyone help me,im trying to burn a movie ive downloaded on to a blank dvd so i can watch it at home,every time i try i this message comes up........YOU HAVE LOADED A DVD-R IN A DRIVE THAT CANNOT BURN LIKE A CD ONLY BURNER OR DVD DRIVE.
Can anyone help me please,i have a dvd/cd-rw drive on my computer and all so burning exspress burn.
