Music to pictures

Hello,
My verbatim external hard drive suddenly switched to music and I can't view my pictures. It will let me change it in properties but as soon as I hit ok, it reverts back to music? How do I make it stay on pictures?

Hi sorry about that! Windows xp but the problem is the verbatim external USB external drive- reading as music not pictures- it will let me change it but then it reverts back to music--- stress!!!
