My iPod turns on fine. My songs appear fine on it. But as soon as I click on play button, it starts acting weird. It does not play songs. When I try to forward the songs, it just resets itself.
I have tried everything possible but nothing seems to work. My iTunes does not detect my iPod. So, I cannot even reset it. And when I reset it manually, nothing happens. It just stays the same as before.
System Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

I had the same problem and it worked when I pushed the center button and the menu button at the same time for several seconds until it shut down and then rebooted with the apple icon popping up. DIdn't know you could push two buttons at once. Should have read the manual I guess. Thanks to the poster who posted this solution though!
