Loading xp

Hello,
when reformtating an loading windows xp into my compaq desktop after the 12th recovery disc is loaded (4hrs after starting) i get the "Blue" screen that say an error has occured and windows had to shut down if this is the first time you have seen this message please restart ect. I tried to use just windows xp disk and it gets to the install page that says installing windows "WINDOWS XP A FRESH NEW LOOK" ect. and then i just restarts over an over. Any help would be great my daughter is now on my top of the line "E MACHINE" ha ha

hi there,

you must reset the bios to factory default

then reboot from recovery disks
