Hello,
This sounds like a possible issue with the CMOS battery of your laptop, which could interrupt the startup process. I recommend you to take out the CMOS battery for a minute or so, put it back and fire up your laptop again. Replacing it for a new one could also help, they sell for very cheap on Amazon etc.
Search Google for your laptop's model and CMOS battery to see where the battery is located.
