Hello,
Just hooked a nice surround sound sustem to HDMI computer and monitor. NO SOUND ouch. the directions state to insert the insert the sound cord to computer to speakers which makes sense however their must be a way to disconnect the HDMI portion which automatically does this

What do you mean, what is exactly your problem, you want to get sound or you don't want to get sound ?
