How to retrieve files from the local Disc:C

Hello,

My computer had a virus, I re-installed Microsoft XP Professional, I recovered the files that are stored in the local Disc :C, but I don't know how to retrieve them especially the softwares. How do I retrieve files stored in the C: or D: Drive s that I can use them again.

you mean installed software before formatting in program files?
