Hello,

Same problem, light won't work and less when unplugged and stuck with the battery,
almost like the Web 2.0 apps exausted my Gateway Laptop light or both the battery and
and plug are needed.
I have no idea why a 3 y/o lap top would just lose it's light there are older Toshibas still running.

this all depends how you are usint it dude and sometimes this happen and have it checked by an it professional but dont try to repair it by yourself. but this isnt a big problem and i dont think this would cost a lot.
