Toshiba laptop blocked with password

Hello,
I got a toshiba laptop from a friend who i am out of touch with.He has enabled some password that blocks me from downloading any hardware onto the system.I am in trouble as I have lost the installation cd's of my webcam and mobile and need to download it from the net.Is there any way of disabling this password option.
