Cant download adobe shockwave

Hello, how can i find out what type of mac computer do i have? And why my system isn't downloading adobe shock reader? whrn i attempt to down load the shockwave adobe reader it asks me for a mac 0s x 4.1 through 5 or 10 system i dont have any of that i think
but i do see fire fox and safari on my system but i am a college student and i need shockwave to acess certain sites for school
