D DRIVE FULL

I keep getting the little balloon message thingy at the bottom of my screen that there is low disk space on D drive.
when I look on the properties tab for that drive , it says 7% free space. Cannot do a restore for this reason. Is it serious and what do I do if it is??

Delete some files.
Uninstall unused programs
Burn files that you dont need often to a CD/DVD
