Turns on, then off

Hello,
I have a hp compaq nc6000. While typing on MSWORD, it suddenly turned off. When I tried putting it back on, it came on for few seconds, made some sound on the hard disk, screen blank, then went off. I removed the battery, and connected directly, the same thing. Just on, off. Screen blank! Please what can I do?

Take it in for repair. Looks like a hardware issue.
